Peak Well Systems has reached a major milestone in the development program for its SIMULTRA range of retrievable bridge plugs with the successful ISO-14310 V0 gas testing of the 4-1/2” tool in 15.1lb API pipe at an industry leading 10,000psi and 175degC specification.
Peak’s SIMULTRA Retrievable Bridge Plug receives V0 certification at 10kpsi
How to free wire at depth and retrieve to surface in high deviation wellbore
Technology in Action: Precision cutting of wire at depth and retrieving to surface in high deviation wellbore
During drift run operations to determine the depth of a third party retrievable bridge plug downhole, the drift assembly was unable to retract through the 5 ½” x 4 ½” completion crossover rendering it stuck downhole at a depth of 2,349m at 65 degrees deviation.
A cutter was required to free the wire (0.125” OD GD31MO) exactly at depth allowing it to be retrieved back to surface.

SIM Plug set and retrieved in horizontal wells using tractor and stroker
Technology in Action: Well barrier solutions in horizontal wells
Recent onshore testing sought to evaluate an e-line deployed well tractor, well stroker, and slickline configuration toolstring for mechanical well interventions in highly deviated or horizontal wells.

Peak's solution for successful heavy duty fishing at depth in a high deviation well
Technology in Action: High Deviation Heavy Duty Fishing in North Sea
A wireline service company in the North Sea used Peaks innovative tools to provide a solution for recovering a competitor’s bridge plug that had become stuck downhole. The 5 ½” bridge plug was set at 10,500ft in a highly deviated 77 degree well, giving additional concerns about the challenge of deploying intervention tools to such depth and deviation.
Peak's solution? A high deviation toolstring consisting of a Multi-Function Rope Socket, Power Jars, Linear Jars, and WellGlide Roller Centralisers.
